YOUTH GATHER FOR US EMBASSY SESSION

Mohale’s Hoek, Aug. 21 — Multitudes of youth from various villages have on Wednesday gathered at the Ministry of Education’s hall for the US Embassy session.

The Embassy’s  Exchanges and Resource Coordinator, Mrs.  ‘Mabohlokoa Bookholane stated that the objective of the session is to give an insight to the youth regarding various programs which are being offered by the US Embassy, and ways on how they can apply for grants into those programs.

She indicated that available programs and grants among others entail the Mandela Washington Fellowship which was established in 2010 by the former president Barack Obama, after realising that youth in African countries have less opportunities compared to their counterparts in the U.S.

Mrs. Bookholane further articulated that other programs are Civic Leadership, Public Management, Entrepreneurship as well as Fulbright, which is a 2 year Masters program, opened for students from 25 to 40 years.
