YOUTH AGAINST UNEMPLOYMENT

Maseru, Feb. 27 — In an attempt to tackle unemployment in the country, local youth have established an online newspaper titled ‘The Saturday Times’.

This establishment comes at the time when the government through the 2025/26 fiscal year budget has declared unemployment rate, particularly among youth, an overall objective, thus calling all including the private sector to partake in job creation.

The introduction of ‘The Saturday Times’ whose first issue came out three weeks ago to build more on youth aspirations, gives them hope that in solidarity, they can change the narrative, the Director, Mr. Molefi Ralengau has said.

Speaking with the Agency on Thursday, he stipulated that they have established a niche market in this area as many newspapers locally are traditional though moving slowly to digital ways of doing things. AM/TL
