Maseru, Mar. 25 — Second Lieutenant Tabakholo Liphoso, one of the state witnesses in the ongoing Mohale Dam Murder Trial has told the court how he was in 2017 taken by the police following the kidnapping and killing of three men whose bodies were found in the Mohale Dam.
The witness has earlier told the same court that he is a member of the Military Intelligence, adding that following a shooting of two army members at the Maseru Border Post in May 2017, he was assigned to work together with Captain Monyeke in the investigations of the shooting.
He testified that while at the Ministry of Defence, the police took him in a vehicle in which he found Lance Corporal Mahlomola Makhoali and Private Nthatakane Motanyane who are some of the accused in this case. He pointed out that they were taken to the Police Headquarters with a high escort.
The witness stated that they were taken to a room where about eight police officers were already waiting. He said the atmosphere in that room was not pleasant. He indicated that there were handcuffs on the table adding that there was an argument whether they should be handcuffed or not. SM/TL
