WETLANDS DAY COMEMORATED AT HA-TLHAKU 

Quthing, Feb. 07 — The Principal Chief of Quthing Chief Seeso Nkuebe on Thursday led an event to Mark International wetlands Day on the theme ‘protecting wetlands our future’, held at Ha-Tlhaku in Mphaki community Council Qhoali constituency on Thursday this week.

The event organized by Southern Mountains for Rural Transportation and Development (SMART) in collaboration with Ha-Thaku community was intended to sensitize community on importance of wetlands protection for the benefit of their lives and all living things on the planet earth.

Speaking at the same event, the District Principal Chief expressed need for community leaders that comprise of Chiefs and community councillors in the district to work hand in with development the partners and public officers on wetlands protection, conservation and restoration issues to achieve objectives of wetlands protection.

He commended Ha-Tlhaku community for their commitment in range management issue since wetlands are easily protected in well managed ranges. . .
