UNFAVOURABLE WEATHER DELAYS PENSIONERS’ PAYMENT

Maseru, July 23 – Old age pensioners will have to go extra days without payment due to unfavourable weather conditions experienced these days.

This is according to information received from communications desk of social development under the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports, Arts, Culture and Social Development.

Ms. Mpho Makhetha, Communications personnel explained that this is a macro external matter beyond them, saying old age pensioners who were meant to get their allowances on Monday 24th July will now be paid on Saturday 29th July.

Meanwhile, she indicated that the said adjustment will not affect others except those dated above, adding in areas where helicopters are used to ease payment will be notified if there will be any changes, thus apologised for any inconvenience this is likely to bring.

The Agency has received reports from Disaster Management Authority (DMA) of heavy snow fall that has blanketed different parts of the country this weekend, particularly remote and the most mountainous areas.

DMA has strongly called the nation to be cautious during this fragile time and yet most loved by tourists.
