Qacha’s Nek, Mar. 21– The Acting District Coordinator of Environment and Forestry, Mrs. Matieho Maseka says they answered the need of the community with 5,500 trees of three different species of Cypress 3000, Rhus diarrhea 1,500 and Leucosidea sericea 1000 Hasekake, Makhoaeleng that will prevent soil erosion, protect against climate change and for fuel.
She stated, that the trees planting was named adopted as National Tree Planting Day, on 21/03/2012 and has been commemorated over the years.

District Council Secretary (DCS) Mr. Sebaka Mikelloa mentioned that, “it is very essential to honor this day of trees planting,” they give us clean water to drink, air to breath, shade, food to humans, animals and plants.”
