Mokhotlong, Mar. 05 — The Minister of Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition, Mr. Thabo Mofosi, said that small stock shows must be hosted annually for farmers to introspect on their successes and failures.
The minister made this statement on Tuesday at the annual small stock shows held in Mokhotlong.
Mr. Mofosi further stated that the production of small stock farming in the district was high in the past, but it has now declined due to stock theft.
He urged other farmers who did not win to pull up their socks because there are Agricultural Extension officers available to assist them with all necessary information.
Commenting on the challenges faced by crop farming, he made a plea to Mr. Leluma Bereng, the District Agricultural Officer (DAO) of Mokhotlong, to always be timely in assisting farmers before significant damage occurs.
