STRENGTHEN NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT GUIDING TOOLS – PUBLIC

Qacha’s Nek, June.26 — The people of Makhoareng, Ha Apile have proposed a review of the Environment Act of 2008 penalties and a policy protecting traditional medicinal plants used by indigenous communities in Lesotho to avoid extinction and reserve parks.

This came out during public consultations held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF) to discuss the natural resources issues in Qacha’s Nek.

The nation wide public consultations are carried out in preparation of the upcoming national dialogue on Natural Resources Management (NRM) scheduled for August 2024. . .
