Mokhotlong May 23 — Tuesday morning saw deployment of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) and Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) along the road and at Malingoaneng in Mokhotlong where the sod turning ceremony of the second phase of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) will be held.
Deployment was part of their duty to monitor security issues during ceremonies of this magnitude as well as to control the public as rumour has it that there were members of the public in Mokhotlong who planned a protest so that their concerns could be heard by those in highest authority.
