SCHOOL ON CROP PRODUCTION TO FIGHT HUNGER

Mafeteng, April 01—As part of efforts to fight hunger and ensure self reliance in schools,   Phechela Primary School is currently engaged in different crop production and piggery rearing.

In an interview with the Agency,  School Principal Mr. Mokhele Khetsi said it was in 2018 when they sat together with the school management and  agreed to use the land to produce food to feed pupils while at the same time ensuring income generation to meet some of the school needs.

He highlighted that  their policy of engaging in agriculture has grown as they are having piggery projects, production of vegetables and field crops such as maize, beans and wheat which they use for  subsistence purposes and sell the surplus…
