RESIDENTS CLASH OVER HOUSING SITES ALLOCATED IN FARMLAND

Qacha’s Nek, Feb. 24 – Residents of Tsoelike, Qacha’s Nek, are raising concerns over the allocation of housing sites within their agricultural fields, fearing the move will spark conflicts within the community.

One of the affected residents, Mr. Malefane Phethane, revealed that the Tsoelikana Council has designated residential plots in the middle of their farmland.

“I immediately reported this to our village chief, asking why he was approving sites in our fields, as this would create disputes in the long run. His response was that it wouldn’t be an issue,” Phethane stated.

Another resident, Mr. Odilone Cekwane from Ha Rojane, echoed similar frustrations. He claimed that both the village chief and councilor dismissed his concerns, insisting that site allocation must proceed. . .
