REOPENING OF FACTORIES BRINGS BACK HOPE TO FACTORY WORKERS

Maseru, Oct. 18 — The re-opening of factories in Maseru and Maputsoe has sparked renewed optimism among the public, offering hope that lives will be restored. This sentiment follows the relaunch of Ever Unison Garments in Maputsoe and the CGM factory.

The re-opening of CGM, under the theme “Re Bula Lifeme” (We Reopen Factories), marks a significant step forward for Lesotho’s textile industry, signalling potential future factory openings and a more hopeful outlook for the country’s manufacturing sector.

Several factory workers, who had been sent home during the closure of numerous firms over the past two years, shared their relief at the news. Mrs. Mathoto Lesia, a former worker, noted that while not everyone will be rehired, the relaunch of these firms will undoubtedly change the lives of many. . .
