Quthing, August 12 — The Quthing District Department of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition has organized a district Food Month celebration to be held at Ts’epong sports ground in Tele Agricultural Resource Centre on August 21.
The event on the theme ‘breaking pots of hunger from poverty zero granary’ will be held as part of the Ministry’s assignment to Mark 200 years of Lesotho Independence.
The District Agricultural Officer (DAO), Mr. Mabusetsa Makau told the Agency in an interview that the event will demonstrate the journey of Basotho in food production and nutritutrition with coverage of old and improved technologies to date.
He highlighted the event will also play a vital role as a marketing opportunity to producers, since they will exhibit and sell their products, and as well be a platform to coordinate the farmers with development partners in agricultural production for improvement of farmers ties with the partners.
