Maseru,April.04—The Minister of Education and Training has announced that Basotho nationals who wish to further their studies out of the country can now evaluate their results in the country.
This Professor Ntoi Rapapa said during the reporting and reflecting on government’s 100 days in office citizen engagement dialogue held in Maseru on Tuesday.
It is at the same event that Professor Rapapa indicated that the evaluation process provides for the statutory, structural arrangements and supporting quality instruments to achieve equivalence, harmonisation and standardisation of the Lesotho education and training system.
He mentioned that the evaluation has so far been made at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) whereby four programs have been evaluated, six at the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT), one at the Centre for Accounting Studies (CAS), one at Scott College of Nursing, one at Roma School of Nursing as well as one at Maluti Nursing College.
Meanwhile, Professor Rapapa revealed that the ministry of education and training is for the year 2023/2024 aiming at introducing and implementing a new curriculum in early childhood care centres which Its focus is to improve the quality of education within the country
from an early stage.
Before the introduction of the Lesotho Qualifications framework, Basotho nationals who would like to further their studies out of the country were having their results evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
