Maseru, June 06 — Members of the public are waiting in anticipation for the Court of Appeal to deliver judgment in a case in which a proposed motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister together with 9th Amendment to the Constitution are being challenged.
Delivery of the judgment is scheduled for Friday next week, almost over a month after the first session of the Court of Appeal came to an end. The case was heard after other cases registered for the April session had already been heard and judgments which were being prepared.
Democratic Congress (DC), Basotho National Party (BNP) and Popular Front for Democracy (PFD) have approached the Court of Appeal after they lost a case against Puseletso Lejone, Speaker of National Assembly, the Prime Minister and others.
When addressing the Court of Appeal, the appellants asked the Court to support a minority judgment made by the High Court sitting as the Constitutional Court in this matter.
