Berea, July 15 — With the aim to improve service delivery, build capacity for leaders and subordinates, the Ministry of Public Service conducted a one day training for civil servants regarding the Performance Management System (PMS) on Monday.
The training which saw in attendance over 200 civil servants from different government departments working within Berea district was staged at Ka Pitseng Guest House, Teyateyaneng.
Public Service Senior Performance Management Officer, Mrs. Malebete Phenya remarked that there have been a lot of public outcry about poor service delivery at various departments, but the current government administration saw a need to enforce the implementation of PMS across the public service for better and efficient services for Basotho.
She pointed out that PMS is a tool used to ensure execution of the organizational strategy or it can be a process used to align individual to performance with organizational goals, adding that the philosophy behind the new PMS is to improve and drive efficiency among the public service.
