Maseru, Mar. 24 — The Police Complaints Authority and the office of Ombudsman signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 24 in Maseru.
Ombudsman Chairperson, Mrs. Tlotliso Polaki said it is an honour and privilege to address this historic occasion as they formalise the strategic partnership and collaboration between the Office of the Ombudsman and the Police Complaints Authority.
Mrs. Polaki explained that the signing ceremony marks collaborative efforts between her office and PAC as oversight institutions charged with the responsibility of police conduct and ensuring that the activities of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS), as a public institution and its officers, are safeguarded.
“At the core of work is our steadfast belief that effective and efficient oversight must not only be anchored along general administrative justice principles but that cooperation and collaboration assists us in harnessing the collective intelligence, leveraging on divers skills, knowledge, creativity, energy, resources to solve problems and streamlining processes to drive our individual institutions success,” Mrs. Polaki said.
