PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE VISITS BELO INDUSTRIAL PROJECT

Botha-Bothe, Sept. 21 — The Parliamentary Economic Cluster Committee has undertaken a visit to various government projects to assess their progress, with one of their stops being the Belo Industrials construction site.

The Chairperson of the Committee Mr. Sello Hakane, emphasized their commitment to ensuring that government projects move beyond the planning stage. He highlighted that Parliament’s responsibility extends beyond budget allocation; it also involves overseeing projects through to completion. He acknowledged past shortcomings, where projects remained only on paper due oversight.

“We have observed that the Belo Industrial site is approaching completion, which is a gratifying development. We are aware of the challenges this project has faced, and we believe that had we been involved earlier, some of these issues could have been avoided.”
