OLYMPIC DAY BLENDS EDUCATION, SPORT, SOCIAL AWARENESS

Qacha’s Nek, Aug. 23 — In celebration of the three-day Olympic Day (OD) event scheduled for August 23-25, the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC), alongside key stakeholders, transformed Hermitage High School into a vibrant hub of education and entertainment on Friday.

Approximately 500 students from five schools that include Makhalong, Makhaola, Eagles peak, Hermitage and Qacha’s Nek were empowered with knowledge on various critical topics, including Olympism, human trafficking, road safety, abuse, and crime.

The event, known as Meraka, was filled with adrenaline-fueled activities, including captivating live performances, heartwarming poems, and informative sessions targeted at students.

This initiative followed a week-long Sports Administration course held from July 29 to August 2, 2024, attended by members of the District Entertainment Committee, as well as various coaches, players, and referees.
