NTSIE TESTIFIES IN CAMERA

Maseru, Aug. 02 — One of the famous inmates, Mr. Lephuthela  Ntsie testified before the Commission of Inquiry on the escape of inmates, in camera.

Mr. Ntsie told the Commission before testifying in camera that before he went to South Africa, he was an Investigative Research Journalist and is much more informed than other people even in the incidents that occured at Maseru Central Correctional Institution (MCCI) in December last year.

He therefore indicated that he was in a position to disclose before the Commission, who gave a directive to assault inmates in December last year until one died in the process.

He also indicated that inmates and recruits are the same victims within MCCI, making an example that recruits are frustrated because of prison life just like inmates.
