NO PROGRESS YET- UNIONS

Maseru, Jan.09—Following suspension of march by teachers to present petition to the Prime Minister on November 15 last year, teachers’ unions say that there is no progress yet as per their agreement with the government cabinet sub-committee.

The Unions are Lesotho Teachers Trade Union (LTTU), Lesotho Association of Teachers (LAT) and Lesotho Schools Principals Association (LESPA).

The agreement was that the petition be suspended while giving way for talks between the concerned parties. Among others the agreement entailed that the government will address the pending issues in the 2019 agreement between the two parties. Also that the government will pay the 2019 September teachers’ salaries. . .
