NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SUSPENDS LHDA BUDGET DEBATES

Maseru, Mar. 18 — The Speaker of the National Assembly suspended discussions on the amendment of recommendation 5.17 of the report on the budget and estimates for 2025/26 financial year, regarding disallocation of a proposed budget amounting to M424.9 Million for Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) 

Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane said although discussions have been suspended, the amendment will be re-submitted. 

He made this ruling following the feedback that was presented by the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Natural Resources Mr. Moeketsi Mots’oane after the House adjourned for about an hour with the purpose to allow further discussions on this matter by the committee members and Leaders of opposition parties…
