Maseru, Aug. 17 — Three Members of Parliament for the Revolution For Prosperity (RFP) are expected to undergo a disciplinary hearing before the party’s disciplinary panel on Saturday.
According to a letter addressed to the Parliamentarian of the Matlakeng constituency, Dr. Mahali Phamotse that the Agency has witnessed, Dr. Phamotse together with Mr. Thuso Makhalanyane and Mr. Rethabile Letlailana are being charged with failing to protect the ruling party’s interest after they voted with the opposition at the national assembly this week.
The letter further indicated that Dr. Phamotse will also be charged with improper conduct and unacceptable behaviour in which she is reported to have on April 10 invited the leaders of opposition to a thanksgiving ceremony that took place in her constituency.
Also, she will be charged with disrepute, improper conduct and unacceptable behaviour with which she is reported to have in one radio station made utterances that were improper and committed a disciplinary offence that caused disrepute for the party.
When contacted for comments by the Agency on Thursday, Dr. Phamotse confirmed that she has indeed been summoned to a disciplinary hearing but there is nothing much she can say for now about the hearing lest she jeopardises her case.
The three aforementioned Parliamentarians have previously had a number of altercations with their party which include belonging to groups of party functionaries ordering for the elective conference, accusations of failed meritocracy and also court cases.
