MOSAFELENG MARKS WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK WITH CALLS FOR ENHANCED SUPPORT, PRODUCTION

Qacha’s Nek, Aug. 09 — Key stakeholders, led by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition (MAFSN), celebrated World Breastfeeding Week on Friday at Mosafeleng.

The observance began on Monday with a week-long nutrition education program, which included training and demonstrations on feeding practices, climate smart plots,child protection and policies, hygiene and household food production. 

The program targeted nursing mothers, caregivers, communities, nutrition clubs and local authority leaders.

The celebration featured a fun walk, with participants singing breastfeeding-related songs and carrying placards bearing messages such as ‘Proper nutrition and hygiene lower the rate of disease, Exercise regularly and Proper nutrition is everyone’s responsibility.’
