MOHALE’S HOEK ENGLISH MEDIUM SCOOPS FIRST POSITION

Mohale’s Hoek, March 15 — Mohale’s Hoek English Medium School and Mohale’s Hoek English Medium Primary School have on Friday scooped first positions respectively in Vulnerable Road Users debating sessions, organized by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport under the Department of Road Safety.

According to the Ministry’s Road Safety Officer, Mr. Chalale Mokhethi, the department changed the approach from teaching students at schools to holding debating sessions, noting they were given time to prepare themselves as early as January, by way of conducting their own research regarding road safety.

Mr. Mokhethi who further indicated that the project was piloted in Mafeteng in 2023, revealed that statistics released in January indicate that road fatalities affected people between 9-25 years of age in Maseru, Leribe and Mohale’s Hoek, hence the need to spread messages about road safety.
