Maseru, Dec. 11 — The Ministry of Natural Resources held a one day Water Sector Coordination Forum in Maseru on Wednesday.
The forum which was opened by the Minister of Natural Resources Mr. Mohlomi Moleko was held under the theme ‘Transboundry water management-The Orange Senqu River Basin’.
In his remarks, Mr. Moleko said that this meeting reaffirms the ministry’s commitment of ensuring sustainable water management and to coordinate the efforts towards achieving shared goals as water is one of the most valued natural resources of this country.
He indicated that Global Water Partnership argues that sustainable development will not be achieved without a water secure world because water secure world integrates a concern for the intrinsic value of water with a concern for its use for human survival and well-being adding that a clear revelation of the responsibility bestowed upon human beings to care for the water so that it can support our survival.
