MESITSANENG RISKS LOSING GRANDS

Mohale’s Hoek, April 02 — The Lesotho Evangelical Church of Southern African Schools Secretary, Mr. Moses Phole says if ever Mesitsaneng Primary School loses grants allocated for the payment of permanent principal, the blame should not be pinned on the school board which he noted has carried out its responsibility effectively.

Mr. Phole stated this in an interview with the Agency following an incident in which one of the applicants lodged a complaint with the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) for not being short listed even though they hold Honours qualifications, leading to the entire process being put on hold, but however stated they are patiently waiting for a way forward from the Commission.

The latter emphasized that the Human Resource office followed all due process of analysing eight applications to shortlisting six, of which two applicants failed to show up on the day of the interview, while three of them wrote withdrawal letters to the board after realising that they were competing with someone with higher qualifications.

On the other hand, the Teaching Service Commission through the Ministry of Education and Training’s Public Relations Manager, Mrs. Molikuoa ‘Mota, has admitted to having received such a complaint and that the issue is being addressed. MM/TL
