MCC CLEANS UP MASERU

Maseru, June 12 — As part of efforts to make Maseru clean, the Maseru City Council (MCC) has ordered vendors selling goods from old parked bakkies to remove such vehicles from the streets of the city effective from Tuesday (yesterday).

According to the statement from MCC, such vendors have seven days to have removed those old bakkies saying that failure to do so will force the Council to remove and dispose of them in line with the Environment Act.

On the other hand, MCC Public Relations Manager Mrs. ‘Makatleho Mosala said that the vendors have to have a certificate to operate from the Council saying that the said vendors are operating illegally emphasising that they have placed themselves.

She said that Maseru town is not only for vendors but for all saying that such vendors have taken up parking bays leaving other people without parking space for when they go to access services.
