Maseru,Dec. 04 — An unidentified man was shot dead at the premises of the Lesotho Correctional Services in Maseru on Saturday night.
In an explanation given by the Lesotho Correctional Services Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent Pheko Ntobane, the deceased who is reported to have been driving a meter taxi ‘4+1’ hit one of the gates at the facility and tried to run away.
He showed that officers who were at the mentioned place tried to stop him but a commotion that led to the shooting of the deceased spiked as he tried to escape.
He stated that the deceased lost his life and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital after being shot by officers.
Assistant Superintendent Ntobane however stated that this matter has been reported to the police and investigations are to be openenned regarding the matter.
This matter is reported to have happened on the night of Saturday around 10:00 pm.
