Maseru, April 15 — Mokulubete Makatisi (28) is being touted as a good prospect to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games scheduled in France later this year.
Federation of Athletics Lesotho (FAL) Secretary General Mr. Makara Thibinyane told the Agency on Monday that fresh from winning the Two Oceans Half marathon in Cape Town South Africa on Sunday, she is now heading to Austria this weekend.
Mr. Thibinyane said Makatisi has been invited to take part at the Vienna Marathon this coming weekend, where if she succeeds could qualify for the Paris Olympic Games.
He said Makatisi, who holds the half marathon national record which is also her personal best of 1:09.44 she made at the Nelson Mandela Bay Half marathon, needs to run the race in less than 2:26 to meet the qualifying time for the Olympic Games.
