MAKATENG MOURNS FORMER TEAMMATE

Maseru, March 10 — Katleho Makateng, a Richards Bay player mourns the late former teammate and close friend Siphamandla ‘Spepe’ Mtolo.

Makateng expressed that he is saddened by the ultimate death of his former football teammate and Richard’s Bay Vice-Captain who collapsed and died in training on Tuesday.

Makateng stated that Mtolo and Captain Katleho Maphathe are the two football players that have been close to him since he joined the Natal Richboyz at the start of the 2022/23 season.

‘’It has been a dull and sad moment for all of us at the club because we were all in the squad that played Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend where he played the whole 90 minutes,’’ said Makateng.

He added that he got along with him and that they used to spend so much time together along with his Captain Maphathe. Makateng said Mtolo and Maphathe have been very supportive since he joined the club and it has been a tough week for him and his teammates and they have not come to the terms of Ntolo passing.

Siphamandla Mtolo was playing as the midfielder for Richards Bay and was 29 years old. He was under the South African Football Association (SAFA) which is the administrative football governing body in South Africa. Katleho Makateng is a Mosotho man who used to play for LDF FC but was later signed with Richards Bay with the contract of two years.
