LOCAL FARMERS EXPRESS DISAPPOINTMENT

Thaba Tseka Sept. 15 — Local farmers have expressed disappointment in the government for failing to notify them using the correct medium when announcing the registration of harvested beans and maize, giving opportunity to those who failed to sell to the government in August this year.  

This was stated in an interview with the Coordinator for the Mohlanapeng resource centre Mr. Pheto Ramaota on Friday.

According to Mr. Ramaota, they heard through the vine that the registration taking place but when they approached the office of the District Disaster Management Authority, it told them they were not aware of that.

He said they also made a follow-up at the FMU office and the response was the same. He said they had thought a proper announcement would be made but were surprised to hear that the registration had taken place and was completed.
