LNFOD SUPPORTS WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES

Maseru, June 08 — Lesotho National Federation of Organizations of the Disabled (LNFOD) remains committed to support women and girls with disabilities including through mobilization and movement building to magnify their voice in disability rights.

This was said by LNFOD Executive Director Advocate Nkhasi Sefuthi in an interview with the Agency as women with disabilities are in a process of establishing an association with the objective to ensure their rights are not violated.

Adv. Sefuthi said women and girls with disabilities are subject to multiple discrimination and there is need to ensure that measures are taken to ensure the full and equal enjoyment by them of all human rights and freedoms.

He indicated that in Lesotho, women with disabilities are not included in decision making such as in Parliament because there is no quota which ensures that they participate in the development of the country.
