Leribe, Mar. 06 — Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) Hiking Club Leribe is engaged in boy’s development activities in an effort to overcome criminal activities.
This was revealed by Officer Commanding Leribe Police, Superintendent Leuoane Thamae in an interview with the Agency on Monday, saying the purpose of the event is to educate boys on self confidence, life skills, resilience to peer pressure and human trafficking.
In addition, he said the activity is aimed to help the boys to refrain from criminal activities.
He explained that the activity took place last week, consisting of boys from Leribe English Medium and Molapo high schools.
Superidentend Thamae said the activity involves hiking and after its completion the information on the above topics is disseminated.
He said the boys attend the event in large numbers, adding that the number was 300 and this is an indication that it has to be held quarterly.
LMPS Hiking Club is intended to make a positive impact in every area they go to, with the intention of educating communities on criminal acts and how to overcome them.
