LEWA UNITES SERVICE PROVIDERS WITH CONSUMERS

Berea, Mar 20 — In a bid to iron out misunderstandings on service provision, Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA) engaged into a public education campaign aimed to unite water and electricity service providers with the consumers at Teyateyaneng on Thursday.

During the same meeting, vandalism of electrical cables, unusual billing of water services and the unattended leaking pipes of water topped the agenda at the public education campaign from the members of the community.

Representing LEWA, Mr. Tabai Motuba said electricity has turned out to be a necessity for every individual either having a connected house or without electricity and as a result there is a need to ensure maximum safety and security of electrical equipment. However, Mr. Motuba stressed that there is a nationwide outcry about vandalism on electrical equipment and in most cases such culprits are well known as they are part of the community, but in most cases people will always pinpoint the power utility for failure to deliver
