Maseru, Mar. 02 — Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ms. Nthati Moorosi, also Chairperson of the African Union’s Special Technical Committee on Communication and Information Communication Technologies (AU STC-CICT), delivered an impactful virtual address yesterday during the Ministerial Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence for Africa, held on the eve of the upcoming World Congress 2025, which is set to commence today to Thursday March 6.
In her address, Ms. Moorosi highlighted the newly developed and validated Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy of Lesotho, emphasizing its alignment with the Africa Continental AI Strategy. The policy aims to integrate AI technologies into various sectors of the nation’s economy and society, enhancing growth and innovation across the region.
“Today, we stand on the brink of a digital transformation that has the potential to elevate our economies and societies. Lesotho’s AI policy not only positions us at the forefront of this revolution but is also aligned with our commitment to the continental strategy,” said Ms. Moorosi.
During the roundtable, she underscored the significance of collaboration among African nations and their partners in advancing AI initiatives across the continent. . . .
