Maseru, Oct.10—Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) and also member of Science Society of Lesotho Professor Mosotho George says Lesotho’s water is clean and therefore good for generating hydrogen.
This he said days before the much talked about conference to be held in the country termed “Metsi ke Bophelo” where he said Hydrogen is a clean alternative to methane, also known as natural gas saying it is the most abundant chemical element, estimated to contribute 75% of the mass of the universe. Here on earth, vast numbers of hydrogen atoms are contained in water, plants, animals and of course humans.
He said hydrogen from Lesotho’s water is cleaner compared to water from the sea saying salt present in sea water can damage cells that are used on cars and planes or generate hydrogen to get oxygen adding that the salt can result in low hydrogen generation.
