Maseru, April 14—The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane has explained that it is not true that the government has made some commitments with the government of America as to respond to the on going tariff increase that the US government has imposed on Lesotho as speculated by a number of international media publications.
Speaking in a press conference held on Monday, Mr. Mpotjoane said the government is yet to go into deliberations with the US government and plead with it on how best the tariffs issues can be addressed which can be of benefit to Lesotho.
He stated that the government of Lesotho is also through its embassy in the United States facilitating a digital meeting between the Prime Minister of Lesotho Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane and the President of the US Mr. Donald Trump to deliberate on the tariff negotiations…NT/BM
