Maseru, March. 31 — At the request of the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), in Addis Ababa has handed over 2000 tablets to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
According to the Principal Secretary of the said Ministry, Dr. ‘Mamphaka Mabesa, the tablets are meant to support the reforming and enhancement of the Accelerated Improvement of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Project.
On behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho the Permanent Representative of Lesotho to the ECA, Ms. Ntšiuoa Sekete showed gratitude to the ECA for this massive shot in the arm.
She indicated that the project entered into force in 2022 with about 120 gadgets therefore the additional 2000 tablets will certainly expedite promotion, efficiency, completion and bear the country much desired fruits in no time. NT/TL
