Leribe, Nov. 26 — With the purpose of overcoming the effects of climate change and being vivid with the weather forecast, Disaster Management Authority ( DMA) through District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) Leribe is on a weekly sensitization programme in different areas of the highlands of Leribe.
The programme commenced on Monday and it will end on Friday this week through the support by Improving Adaptive Capacity of Vulnerable and Food Insecure Populations in Lesotho ( IACOV).
Speaking at the public gathering held at Ha Palama, the member of National Climate Change Committee Mr. Molefi Phaqane said the purpose of the sensitization is to help communities understand the importance of weather forecast in every day’s life for one to accomplish his duties and responsibilities.
In addition, he said secondly the programme is also intended to help communities understand the effects of climate change and adapt to living under its impacts yet still producing positive results for a better living.
