Maseru, June 19 —The Lesotho Public Servants Association (LEPSA) Secretary General, Mrs. Motebang Leboela says the intended introduction of the performance management payment system by the Ministry of Public Service is not feasible.
When contacted for comment on behalf of LEPSA on Wednesday, Mrs. Leboela told the Agency that abolishing the automatic notch system by replacing it with the performance management payment system is not easy.
She made an example of an officer based at Tlhanyaku in the remote areas of Mokhotlong district who is working alone how such an officer could be appraised in order to get annual increment, while the performance management system is still centralised.
Mrs. Leboela also questioned how the public servants pensioners would be given annual increment when the performance management payment system is in place since they are still expecting increment as they too are affected by the inflation.
