Maseru, Feb.27 – From 1985 to 2025 otherwise 40 years of Lesotho News Agency (LENA) existence, the Agency remains steadfast as a source of news though growth is slightly slow.
The Agency’s Director, Mrs. Moroa Mopeli said this when unpacking the 40 years journey of the organization since its establishment. “United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) had put us half way through their financial support and assistance,” She stressed.
However, she said due to economic meltdown, social and human resource challenges facing various entities, LENA is not an exception, thus has been affected negatively hence a bit of slow progress in deliverables ‘tortoise’.
The Director said that there was a time when LENA was a household name, citing that even in villages talkative people were referred to as LENA but with the above-mentioned challenges the narrative has changed.
Throughout the years, she stated LENA has covered major events which they are proud to have in their archives as they can be used as references. .. .
