URUMQI, Oct.14 — Lesotho News Agency (LENA) Director Mrs. Moroa Mopeli is among the 500 participants from 106 countries and regions including representatives of 208 mainstream media outlets, government agencies and international organizations attending the sixth (6th) World Media Summit opened on Monday morning in Urumqi, capital city of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in China.
Themed “Artificial Intelligence and Media Transformation” the summit is being co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region.
This reflects the growing influence of AI in the media industry thus participants will engage in discussions on how AI is reshaping news collection, production and distribution as well as the challenges and opportunities it represents for the future of media.
According to Xinhua News Agency it is during the opening of the summit that the Think tank report on news media responsibility, mission in AI era was released. . .
