Maseru, Mar.17—A few years ahead of 2030, Lesotho News Agency (LENA) admits to gender disparity within the Agency.
Gender disparity is said to be when people of different genders have unequal access to opportunities, resources and rights as according to the United Nations (UN).
In this case the Director Mrs. Moroa Mopeli said that at LENA more women are employed as opposed to their male counterparts saying that they have five males and 19 females with one male Reporter and 13 female Reporters.
She continues that as nations move towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) known as Agenda 2030, the Agency does not want to be left behind even though this does not impact on daily activities due to the nature of their work saying the Public Service Commission should consider giving opportunity to both females and males…
