LEKHOABA APPOINTED AS NEW LAA BOSS

Maseru, Mar. 22 — The Newly appointed Land Administration Authority (LAA) Director General and Chief Executive Mrs. ‘Malichaba Lekhoaba says she intends to launch community-based awareness campaigns to educate the public about land rights, responsible land ownership, and the importance of protecting agricultural land, for the next three years of her new journey with LAA.

This, she said in an interview with the Agency, a few days after joining LAA as the new Director General and Chief Executive.

Mrs. Lekhoaba said she has realised that LAA is not visible and people do not know much about it, the services it offers as well as the benefits of having a registered land.

She added that she will empower local councils with greater authority and resources to manage land issues in their areas, creating a participatory approach to land governance.

“There is also a need to hold regular community forums for discussions about land-related issues to ensure that the voices of citizens are heard and integrated into decision making,” she said. . . .
