LCS REPAINTS HIV/AIDS MONUMENT 

Quthing, Nov.  22 — Two weeks prior to International World Aids Day commemoration, the Quthing Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS)  in partnership with Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) has repainted district HIV/AIDS red ribbon monument at Thaba-Bosiu in Upper Moyeni.

The Red ribbon monument was installed in 2006 by the district HIV/AIDS district task force in immemorial of people who died from HIV/AIDS related disease and support of the HIV/AIDS infected and the affected.

In an interview with the Agency connection with repainting of the monument, the  Rehabilitation Officer from Quthing LCS Mr. Katleho Mafube said the monument has been repainted as part LCS mandate to provide HIV/AIDS awareness services to the community.

He highlighted that HIV/ AIDS still exists and the emblem acts as a reminder to the community that it has to take preventive measures against HIV/AIDS, support the affected and the infected, and also avoid discrimination of people living with the pandemic.
