Maseru, Mar. 05 — Advocate Motene Rafoneke who had early last month withdrawn as a prosecutor in a case in which two army members are charged with the murder of Lisebo Tang, which occurred near the residence of Former Army Commander Tlali Kamoli in 2014, has on Wednesday told the court that he is back on the case.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Adv. Hlalefang Motinyane had told the court that she was not aware of the withdrawal. She however stated that she would try to negotiate with the prosecutor.
The court stated that if the DPP fails to convince Adv. Rafoneke to continue with the case, another lawyer should be appointed so that the case continues.
Among the recent witnesses to have testified in this matter is Major Bareng Moletsane who was a member of the Special Forces when the incident occurred. He testified that he went to a crime scene near the home of Kamoli where the accused were deployed. MM/TL
