Leribe, Oct. 23 — With the purpose of enforcing laws, the Law and Safety Cluster potfolio committee within the Parliament of Lesotho on Wednesday held a referendum with the community of Popopo, St. Monica’s in Leribe.
Addressing the community, the chairperson of the cluster and member of Parliament for, Mr. Mokoena Ramakatsa said the purpose of the gathering is to gather contributions from the community members on the laws entailing bail, stock theft and firearms.
He explained that the laws pertaining to the above mentioned need to be revised to suit the purpose of today.
He said the cluster committee is aware of high stock theft, with community members losing their animals thus resulting in poverty.
