KING ADDRESSES UNGA

Maseru, Sept. 29 — King Letsie III has assured the President of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) of his delegation’s full support and cooperation in all endeavors, further expressing gratitude to the UNGA Secretary General (SG) Mr. Antonio Guterres and pledging Lesotho’s support.

This was during his address to the UNGA where the king said Lesotho is deeply grateful and is offering unwavering support for the SG’s exceptional work on behalf of humanity, especially amidst the challenges facing multilateralism today.

He said under his leadership the UN has navigated numerous obstacles including the Covid-19 pandemic, escalating debt crisis and the impact of climate change.

He continued that the SG in his address to UNGA highlighted the importance of peace within communities, peace with justice, peace with dignity and peace with nature, emphasizing that building peace is humanity’s greatest responsibility.
