Maseru, Sept. 22 — In honor of the 200-year anniversary of the Basotho nation, Khotla La Moshoeshoe is urging all Basotho to embrace the principles of peace, justice, and reconciliation.
This milestone not only commemorates the rich history of the Basotho people but also serves as a reminder of the values that King Moshoeshoe I instilled in unity and peaceful coexistence.
Speaking with Mr. Moorosi Moshoeshoe, Chairperson of Khotla La Moshoeshoe and Founder of Naka La Mohlomi, emphasised the significance of this celebration. “The 200-year mark is a critical point in our history,” he said. “It is a time to reflect on where we come from and work towards reconciliation and peace for our future generations.”
He revealed that the initiative had outlined thematic areas corresponding with each month of the Basotho calendar, each symbolising a vital aspect of Basotho history and heritage.
